Why Africa should be on your bucket list.

When you’re in the business of travel, people often ask you what your favourite destination is. When faced with this question, I always like to stop and really weigh up my options before I give an answer. But no matter how much time I take to consider it, my heart always comes back to the same place: Africa. 

Africa is a continent that can't be summed up in one sentence. It's a place of diverse cultures, stunning landscapes, and beautiful wildlife. From the Sahara desert, to the lush green jungles of the Congo, Africa has something for everyone. And the more I think about (and believe me, I’ve thought about it) the more I have come to consider Africa as a must-see. A continent that absolutely has to be on your bucket list. Here’s why.

To put it simply, engaging with even a fraction of this fundamentally expands your worldview.

Have you ever witnessed the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo) in their natural habitats? Have you ever seen the sweeping savannas of Kenya or the dune-filled deserts of Namibia? Africa’s wildlife and natural landscapes are just about as varied and robust as the cultures. It’s hard to put into words just how profound an experience seeing it in person.

After all your adventuring is done, Africa will offer you idyllic beach escapes to help you relax and unwind. In Zanzibar, you can explore the spice-scented streets of Stone Town before relaxing by turquoise waters. In Egypt, ancient wonders such as the Red Sea await, with vibrant reefs and luxury resorts in tow. For Aussies craving something different, Mauritius is a stunning alternative to Bali or Thailand, with postcard-perfect beaches and a rich blend of cultures.

And in Namibia, you can sandboard or quad bike through Mars-like red dunes that stretch endlessly into the horizon.
